Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to every Business that uses crewduo and to all of its Users. The Business is responsible for making sure its Users follow it.
1. Lawful and honest use
Do not use crewduo to:
- break any law or regulation, or help someone else do so;
- offer or arrange illegal services, or services you are not licensed or permitted to provide where a licence is required;
- deceive people, for example with fake reviews, false credentials or insurance claims, misleading prices, or impersonating another business or person;
- harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate unlawfully against anyone, including Clients and Users;
- infringe someone else's intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights; or
- publish content on your booking pages or client portal that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit or violent.
2. Text messages, email and calls
Carriers and regulators hold every sender responsible for its messages. When you send texts, emails or calls through crewduo:
- Get consent first. Only message people who have agreed to hear from you, or where the law otherwise allows it. For marketing or promotional messages, get express consent where CASL, the TCPA or another law requires it, and keep a record of it. Consent must not be a condition of buying a service.
- No purchased or shared lists. Do not message contacts you bought, rented, scraped or got from a third party.
- Identify yourself. Messages must clearly identify your Business.
- Honour opt-outs. Stop messaging anyone who replies STOP or otherwise asks you to stop. crewduo processes STOP replies automatically for texts; do not re-add people who have opted out.
- Respect quiet hours. Do not send marketing messages outside 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the recipient's local time, or outside stricter hours set by law.
- Prohibited content. Do not send messages about content carriers prohibit, including sexual content; hate speech; illegal drugs or cannabis; firearms; gambling; high-risk financial services such as payday loans, debt relief or cryptocurrency offers; third-party lead generation; or alcohol or tobacco promotions without the age controls carriers require.
- No evasion. Do not rotate numbers, split traffic across numbers or accounts to avoid filtering or registration ("snowshoeing"), use link shorteners that hide destinations, or send messages that differ from your registered use case.
- Call recording. If you record or transcribe calls, give notice and obtain consent as the law requires, including where every party must consent.
- Email. Include a working unsubscribe method and your Business's contact details in commercial emails, and honour unsubscribe requests within the time the law requires.
3. Personal information
- Collect and store only the personal information you need to serve your Clients and run your Business.
- Do not store the following in notes, forms, photos, custom fields or messages: full payment card numbers or security codes, bank account passwords, Social Insurance or Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, or health information beyond what a service genuinely requires. Card payments must go only through the payment features crewduo provides.
- Do not use crewduo to track people without their knowledge, or to compile information about people who are not your Clients or Users.
- Do not share another User's sign-in. Each person must have their own account.
4. Security and technical limits
Do not:
- try to access accounts, data or systems you are not authorized to access, or probe, scan or test the vulnerability of crewduo. To report a security issue, see our Security Overview;
- upload viruses, malware or other harmful code;
- interfere with or disrupt crewduo, or place an unreasonable load on it, for example with automated scripts, bots or scraping outside the features and APIs we provide;
- get around plan limits, rate limits, permissions or other technical restrictions; or
- reverse engineer crewduo, or use it to build a competing product.
5. Payments
- Accept payments only for real goods and services your Business provides, and never for businesses listed on Stripe's restricted businesses list.
- Do not use crewduo to take payments on behalf of another business, or to move money that is not payment for your services.
- Card readers and tap-to-pay may only be used by your Users to take payments for your Business.
6. AI features
- Do not use AI features to create unlawful, deceptive, harassing or infringing content, or to get around this policy.
- Review AI output before sending it to Clients or relying on it.
- Follow the usage policies of the AI providers listed on our Subprocessors page.
7. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations. Depending on how serious a violation is, we may remove content, block messages, pause messaging, payments or other features, suspend Users or the Business account, or terminate under the Terms. Where practical, and where it does not create a legal or security risk, we will contact you first. We may report unlawful activity to the authorities and cooperate with carriers, payment processors and law enforcement.
8. Reporting abuse
If you receive unwanted messages from a business that uses crewduo, reply STOP to the text or use the unsubscribe link in the email. You can also report it to [email protected]. Include the sender, the date and, if possible, a screenshot. Send copyright or trademark complaints to the same address.
