The things people ask before signing up

Is the free plan really free?

Yes - no card, no time limit, two people. It runs the work: clients, requests, quotes, jobs, visits, the calendar and the mobile app, with quotes and invoices emailed as PDFs and payments recorded by hand. What it does not include is the client-facing side: your website, online booking, the client portal and taking money online start on Van.

How does the free trial work?

There is one free trial: 14 days on Fleet, the plan with every feature, and no card. Every other plan is bought straight away. If you choose a plan while the trial is running, nothing is charged until the day the trial ends - that is the day your first payment is taken.

If I pay yearly, how are add-ons billed?

A subscription has one billing period, so on yearly billing the add-ons are yearly too: twelve months of each add-on's monthly price, charged once a year alongside the plan. Only the plan itself gets the yearly discount. Usage past what an add-on includes is paid only from prepaid usage credit - when the credit is used up the extras stop, and nothing is billed afterwards.

What happens when I add the fourth person?

Van covers three. The fourth is $12 a month, and so is every one after that, up to fifteen. If you would rather move up, Crew covers eight and adds dispatch, stock, timesheets and job costing - the builder above shows which is cheaper for your numbers.

Do I have to take a phone line?

No. crewduo sends your quotes, invoices and reminders by email on every plan. A line is for shops that want the business calling and texting from one number instead of someone's mobile - and the AI receptionist needs one, because it has to answer a real phone.

What if we go over the included minutes or texts?

Calls are $0.04 a minute and texts $0.02 after what your line includes; AI receptionist minutes past the plan are $0.25. Those extras are paid only from prepaid usage credit, never billed afterwards: top up (or turn on auto top-up) and they come out of the balance, and when the credit is zero the extras stop.

We are a seasonal business. Do we pay all year?

No. Put the business on a seasonal hold for the off-season: $15 a month keeps your data and every login, and clients can still pay their invoices. Keep your phone numbers for $5 a month each. You pick the day your plan comes back, and can come back sooner from Plan & subscription.

Can I change plans or add-ons mid-month?

Yes, either way. Plans and seats are prorated to the day. Each add-on group runs one option at a time, so moving from Receptionist Lite to Plus in your busy month switches you over immediately and back down when you ask.

Where does our data live?

In Canada. Your database, files and backups are in Canadian data centres, and we list every exception - card processing, email, texts and calls, address lookup, push notifications - on the Made in Canada page. Export everything, any time, on any plan.

What does it cost to get our history in?

Nothing, if you import it yourself - clients and services come in from a spreadsheet or a Jobber, Housecall Pro or QuickBooks export on every plan. If you would rather we did it, white-glove migration is $199 once.
